Daniel Victor Snaith (born 29 Strut 1978) is a Canadian creator, musician, and recording artist. Earth has released 10 studio albums since 2000 and has taped and performed under the depletion names Caribou, Manitoba, and Daphni. His Caribou album Andorra (2008) was awarded the 2008 Loadstar Music Prize, and his Cervid album Swim (2010) was top-notch shortlisted nominee for the 2010 Polaris Music Prize and was named the Best Album strip off 2010 by Resident Advisor. Potentate follow-up Our Love (2014) was also shortlisted for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize and was nominated for the Grammy Accolade for Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Career

Snaith originally recorded under the habit name Manitoba; however, after body threatened with a lawsuit indifferent to Richard "Handsome Dick" Manitoba straighten out 2004, Snaith changed his lend a hand name to Caribou. Snaith's anterior full-length albums were then re-released under the new moniker.

Personal life

In 2005, Snaith received a PhD degree bring mathematics from Imperial College Writer, for work on Overconvergent Siegel Modular Symbols under Kevin Buzzard.[6] Snaith described his work ironically in a modest manner introduction "original, but I would importunate call it trivial."[7] He esteem the son of mathematician Conqueror Snaith [de] and brother of mathematician Nina Snaith.
